Waiakalua Hale
Waiakalua Hale
This reinterpretation of the case study model adds a Hawaiian twist to a classic minimalist approach while holding true to the original intent of the case study effort. By incorporating pre fabricated, pre cut and partially pre assembled steel frames, the project will serve as a model that will reduce costly on-site labor and allow a very high quality product to be realized at a lower cost per square foot. Coupled with the greening advantage of sustainable galvanized steel that will not rust or be consumed by termites, the final product will have a distinct advantage over wood framed product in Hawaii where all wood framing is required to be pressure treated with non environmentally friendly chemicals.
